Our veteran’s and military men and women deserve not only our absolute respect for their sacrifices and defense of our nation, they also deserve our support and care through the Veteran’s Administration and other agencies uniquely tailored to meet their needs. As a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and 28 years in the United States Navy, both active duty and reserves, I have a unique and personal understanding of what it means to be military and a veteran. I understand the value and need for veteran’s services based on my own use of the VA in Leavenworth. As the father of an Air Force Officer, I can see the sacrifice my son has made in the defense of our country, and will be a voice for him and others wearing the cloth of our nation. If elected to the Kansas House of Representatives, I will seek membership on the Veteran and Military committee or use my experience to advocate my perspective and experiences with this committee.
